Richard James began his professional journey with the South African Revenue Services, where he worked for three years before embarking on a year-long travel adventure through Europe. Upon his return to South Africa, he entered the IT industry, focusing on sales, where he quickly found his niche. Over time, Richard specialised in software application sales, honing his expertise in business automation and accounting software systems.
He was instrumental in growing the Brilliant Accounting brand in KwaZulu-Natal, which was eventually acquired by Sage and became known as Sage 200. After several successful years at Sage, Richard ventured into the steel fabrication industry, where he gained invaluable experience in business management and accounting software’s critical role in financial management.
Following a partnership split, Richard shifted to sales of steel security products but remained passionate about business management software sales. In July 2014, he joined CO3 Technologies, a dynamic and fast-growing company. His efforts significantly contributed to the company’s growth and the widespread adoption of its software in the local industry.
In October 2021, Richard was invited to join the Executive team at CO3 Technologies as Head of New Business, tasked with driving sales growth both locally and internationally. His extensive experience and expertise make him a vital asset to the company’s continued success.
