Our Journey
The Beginning
In 2003, CO3 Technologies was founded by Marius Engelbrecht and Darryl Muller with a vision to revolutionise enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, initially targeting the aviation industry. Their innovative approach aimed to streamline and optimise business processes within this highly specialised field.
The vision and mission
The vision of CO3 has always been:
- To help businesses operate more efficiently through the use of good systems that create sound business processes.
- To train people both internally and externally on how to run businesses better.
- To create a community within CO3 based on equitable and just values.
Our core values have always been at the heart of everything that we do.
Solutions for aviation businesses
Our original software solution was focussed on managing and executing planned maintenance for important production equipment.
The aviation industry in South Africa did not have a locally developed solution to manage this type of business process. The CO3 solution was chosen to fill this void and a few changes were made and slowly our aviation business began to grow.
Aviation industry was severely hampered by the 2008 financial crisis, however the core strength of the system was tested and developed during this time, while new markets were being explored.
BPO Software was born
Partnering with Sage Accounting
BPO was developed to run the day-to-day business operations of an office automation business and was not intended to be an accounting package. Consequently, we chose Sage Evolution for integration with BPO. Additionally, we became resellers of Sage Evolution, providing our clients with a comprehensive solution that encompasses both business management and accounting.
Our 1st customer on BPO
Mpumalanga Copiers (now MPU Group) became our 1st client in the office automation industry to implement BPO.
Growing beyond Office Automation
Originally developed for the office automation industry, BPO Software has proven to be an excellent match for customers across the broader business-to-business service industry. Our first client outside of office automation came on board in 2010. Today, CO3 Technologies serves a diverse clientele, including those in security, telecommunications, IT, distribution, finance, cash automation, heavy machinery, baking and water equipment, as well as drones and solar energy.
We moved out of home
In 2011 we ended our home based office presence by relocating the office into Hillcrest.
We expanded into Africa
Our 1st client from Botswana signed up in 2014 and now we have numerous clients in various countries in Africa.
CRM is developed for salespeople
No business can survive without sales and CO3 Technologies recognized the need for salespeople to track new leads, look after their existing base and have vital information at their fingertips. With this in mind our developers built an integrated CRM with our main BPO service platform.
TechConnect was launched
CO3 Technologies is continually working with our clients in order to improve and add additional features to our software. Tracking field technicians is a vital area of need in the service industry and our developers built a world class Android APP allowing for “live” tracking of all aspects of work order while a technician is in the field.
MCS Software Partnership
MCS, an internationally recognized company with a world class rental management software called MCS-rm, appointed CO3 Technologies as their reseller and support partner for Africa. Our 1st MCS client also came on board in 2015.
Moved into the current office park
Migrating BPO to the Microsoft .NET framework begins
Technology is constantly advancing and evolving. To stay up-to-date with the latest advancements, we initiated a comprehensive redevelopment of BPO into BPO version 2, utilizing the Microsoft .NET platform. This significant overhaul was completed in mid-2017, ensuring our software is future-proof for the foreseeable future.
Team grew to 50 employees
Our largest customer goes live
Our largest client with various companies and branches scattered across South Africa and beyond goes live on BPO with a user base growing to 1000 users over the years.
COVID and becoming 25% stronger
In these challenging times, CO3 Technologies chose to advance rather than retreat, focusing on enhancing the efficiency of our software and customer service. We did not lay off any staff members and managed to emerge relatively unscathed.
BPO becomes Nucleus Software
3manager reseller agreement signed
CO3 Technologies formed a strategic partnership with a leading international printer management software vendor. As a result of this collaboration, we have achieved comprehensive integration of meter readings and automatic fault logging on Nucleus Service. The end result is to improve service delivery and efficiencies around contract billing.
